Not Cairo moved north. Finite antiquities house, then a human hour on the water.
The train already billed a looking. The Bibliotheca is a working library on the water with a small antiquities suite inside. Walk it as a library. Official clock: bibalex.org.
Pair the small rooms with an honest hour on the corniche. Qaitbay, the odeon, the catacombs are other ribbons if feet remain honest. Two trains around a squeezed visit is a story you tell later.
Harbour city, its own morning. Not Cairo dragged north.
14 Talaat Harb Street · 28 August 2026 · Nada Sherif · cool before you lift
Evening arrival, two nights — 6–8 August 2026
On 6 August they took an afternoon train north and slept in Alexandria. A same-day glazed loop is a story, not a card. At 08:30 on 7 August they stood under the Bibliotheca — sphere, slanted roof, a modern box a clerk would still call a matrix because the geometry holds. Nada kept to the small antiquities rooms. The reading halls got a slow circuit and then were left. Objects were the heat, not the disc as architecture. Coffee on the corniche. At 16:10 they photographed Abu al-Abbas al-Mursi from the square and did not enter — civic pride with its own morning, feet still honest after the disc. A second night. Morning train. Cairo at 15:40 on 8 August. Nothing stamped that afternoon. The bead was already dull, in a good way. Kom el-Shoqafa stayed off because stairs plus August humidity is leftover wax, and leftover wax smears.
Stairs and invention, from a published plate. Not walked on 7 August. Leftover minutes are wet wax.
Library rules, harbour air
Treat the disc as a library that also keeps rooms. Hours: bibalex.org. Salt fights vitrines; pick one. Bags follow library instruction. Manuscript light is not plaza light. Catacombs mean stairs and invention. Minutes left after a long hall will not cover them. August humidity is already a looking. Noon on the water does not replace the indoor hours. Library rules are not square rules. Giza paper at the disc is the wrong paper for this house. Confirm. Harbour light is evening, not a noon dash. Sleeping in the city is how a mosque facade becomes possible to photograph without stealing a puck from the disc.
Coming and going the same day: stamp the library and leave the catacombs on paper. Cairo granite plus this disc on one August card is a swollen bead. Montaza’s candy-striped tower is another house if feet remain honest. They did not go. Swim after vitrines? Salt fights cases. Pick one looking. They slept two nights. Stairs, dark, invention. Spare brick will not cover them. The disc keeps its own rules. Do not import a campus pass.
Why they slept twice
Standing beside the pool taught the desk that a planetarium sphere is mass, not a caption. The antiquities rooms were the house. The mosque facade was a photograph because a photograph is what the square needed. Cairo on the 8th at 15:40 was a return. It was not a chance to begin again. Lift in another city before you lift at home.
Warm the stick. Press a single matrix. Let the bead go matte. Then lift it. Staff glass still outranks this street. We will not hang a second pendant on wax that has already set.
From the die
Where do bags go under the disc?
Wherever bibalex.org and the staff that day tell you. Follow that.
May we swim after the vitrines?
Salt fights cases. Pick one looking.
Can catacombs and library share one daylight?
Only with honest feet. Two nights, and the stairs still stayed on paper.
Why photograph Kom el-Shoqafa if you did not go in?
Minutes left after a long hall will not cover stairs and invention. The plate records that refusal.
Does Giza paper mean anything at the library?
The disc keeps its own rules. Confirm there. Do not import a campus pass.
