On 6 August they took an afternoon train north and slept in Alexandria. A same-day glazed loop is a story, not a card. At 08:30 on 7 August they stood under the Bibliotheca — sphere, slanted roof, a modern box a clerk would still call a matrix because the geometry holds. Nada kept to the small antiquities rooms. The reading halls got a slow circuit and then were left. Objects were the heat, not the disc as architecture. Coffee on the corniche. Kom el-Shoqafa stayed off because stairs plus August humidity is leftover wax, and leftover wax smears.
